Disturbing footage released by Karnataka Police has captured the shocking moments when a bomb blast occurred at the popular Rameswaram Cafe in Bengaluru on Thursday. The camera shakes violently as smoke fills the restaurant, causing panic among the patrons and staff. Fortunately, only nine individuals sustained injuries in the blast.
Immediately after the explosion, the police and fire brigade personnel swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the damage and initiate an investigation. The blast left shattered glass and scattered furniture across the cafe floor, creating a scene of chaos and destruction.
Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, confirmed that the blast was a deliberate act and originated from a bag left behind by a customer around noon. While the exact cause of the explosion is still under investigation, the Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) has confirmed it as a bomb blast, likely an improvised explosive device (IED).
“We are currently investigating the incident,” stated CM Siddaramaiah. “An unidentified individual left a small bag behind after eating at the cafe. We are working to determine the motive and the individuals involved.”
Following standard protocol, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is expected to visit the blast site. Forensic teams have already collected evidence, and a dog squad has been deployed to aid in the investigation.
