Severe Cold Weather in North India Leaves Citizens Shivering

Severe cold conditions have gripped many parts of northern India, causing citizens to shiver in the winter chill. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported below-normal maximum temperatures in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The cold wave is expected to persist for the next 2-3 days, according to the latest IMD forecast.

Adding to the weather woes, the IMD has predicted a fresh spell of rain accompanied by thunderstorms or hailstorms over Northwest and Central India, specifically Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh, between January 8th and 10th. Furthermore, dense to very dense fog is likely to persist over northwest India for the next couple of days, gradually decreasing thereafter.

The IMD has issued warnings of dense fog conditions during the night and early morning hours in parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan on the 7th, followed by dense fog in isolated pockets for the subsequent two days.

As citizens bundle up in layers and brace themselves against the biting cold, it is important to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe. Wearing appropriate winter clothes, staying hydrated, and avoiding prolonged exposure to the cold are essential during this time.

In other news, the upcoming festivities of Makar Sankranti on January 14th and the Ram Mandir Inauguration on January 22nd are expected to bring people together despite the chilly weather. These celebrations hold cultural and religious significance for many, and the communities are eagerly preparing for the events.

As winter storms continue to sweep across North India, it is advisable for citizens to stay updated with weather forecasts and follow any advisories issued by the authorities. It is worth noting that North India pilgrimage at Amarnath in J & K, Badrinath and Kedarnath are at halt, and darshan will reopen after winter is over. Stay warm and safe during this cold spell!
