The platform, dubbed the ‘Investor Information and Analytics Platform,’ was inaugurated by IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday. Developed by researchers at the Centre for Research on Start-ups and Risk Financing (CREST) of IIT Madras, the platform offers a centralized hub for startups to engage with Venture Capitalists (VCs), explore government schemes, and navigate the intricacies of the startup landscape. Minister Chandrasekhar lauded the launch, underlining its pivotal role in bridging the gap in understanding the nuances of the startup ecosystem. He emphasized its significance for researchers and policymakers in crafting responsive initiatives tailored to the evolving dynamics of the industry.
A standout feature of the platform is “StartupGPT,” an AI-driven conversational platform designed to provide real-time access to information through user-friendly queries. Accessible at a nominal cost, the platform boasts a vast repository of data encompassing over 200,000 startups, 11,000 angel investors, 5,000 VCs, 1,000 incubators, 100 government agencies, and 550 supportive banks. In collaboration with YNOS Venture Engine, an incubatee at IIT Madras, the platform is bolstered by robust technical support to ensure round-the-clock availability with updated information.
