In a momentous step towards strengthening India’s textile industry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate Bharat Tex – 2024 today, marking the beginning of one of the largest-ever global textile events to grace the nation’s capital. The inauguration ceremony will take place at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam, commencing a four-day extravaganza dedicated to celebrating the country’s vibrant textile sector.
Bharat Tex – 2024 is a visionary initiative that showcases India’s commitment to the growth and innovation of its textile industry. Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s 5F Vision, the event revolves around the theme of ‘farm to foreign via fibre, fabric, and fashion.’ This comprehensive approach encompasses the entire textile value chain, with a focus on sustainability and global competitiveness.
At the core of Bharat Tex – 2024 lies a platform to exhibit India’s textile excellence and reaffirm its position as a global textile powerhouse. The event, organized by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the central government, emphasizes both trade and investment, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
Bharat Tex – 2024 serves as a forum for dialogue and collaboration, offering over 65 knowledge sessions featuring more than 100 global panelists. These sessions cover a wide range of topics, from discussions on sustainability and circularity to fashion presentations showcasing Indian Textiles Heritage and global designs. The event provides a diverse array of insights and perspectives.
The event is expected to witness the convergence of policymakers, global CEOs, exhibitors, buyers, and industry stakeholders from over 100 countries. In addition, textiles students, weavers, artisans, and textile workers will also participate, representing the breadth and depth of India’s textile ecosystem.
With more than 50 announcements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) anticipated to be signed during the event, Bharat Tex – 2024 is poised to drive growth, innovation, trade, and exports in the textile sector. This aligns seamlessly with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and Viksit Bharat (developed India), charting a path towards inclusive growth and economic resilience.
Inaugurating Bharat Tex – 2024 marks a pivotal moment in India’s journey towards textile excellence. It underscores the nation’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and sustainable textile ecosystem that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and global competitiveness. As the event unfolds, it promises to set new benchmarks, inspire collaborations, and propel India’s textile sector to greater heights on the global stage.
